Live and Let Glitter!

Hey everyone!
I have a very simple, yet gorgeous manicure for you today.
I was at Ulta the other day and picked up the most amazing polish from the OPI Skyfall collection.
This polish I speak of is... Live and Let Die.
Holy smokes! It's so pretty and is my new favorite polish!
It's this gorgeous evergreen leaning teal color with gold shimmer.
Seriously.. if you must pick up a polish from the Skyfall collection I recommend this one!
It's the perfect holiday color.
I want to pick up a few more (if not all) polishes from this collection because I'm absolutely smitten.
Anyway, I used Live and Let Die first and topped it off with OPI Spark De Triomphe!
I adore these two polishes together.
On to the mani...

I am so in love with this combination!

Cinderella, Cinderella!

Hey guys!
Today will be my last Halloween costume themed nails.
I only did three... LAME!
Maybe I can produce more next year :D
Anyway, I did Cinderella themed nails this time!
I guess let's just get right to it... I hope you enjoy.

In case you weren't able to figure it out... my pointer is representing Cinderella's beaten and battered pink cleaning dress, the blue glittered nails represent her ball gown, the pumpkin... I hope is self explanatory and the pinky is the "glass" slipper. Although it is not slipper shaped, it's the thought that counts, right?
Right!

I hope you enjoy! Have a safe and happy Halloween!
and if you are on the East Coast like moi!
Be very safe while Hurricane Sandy passes through.
I'm luckily still with power, but I don't know how long that will last.

The creativity began.

Monday Questionnaire!

Hi guys!
So, as I was going through all of my favorite blogger's posts from today I saw a post from Allison that was titled: Monday Questionnaire. Now I'm sure some most of you have heard of her.. she makes amazing videos on youtube and is super duper sweet! I literally watch like all of her videos.
Plus her make-up is AMAZE-BALLS! :D
Anyway, I decide I would do the exact same thing.. it looked fun!
PS: You can do it too ;)

Since Taylor's new album Red came out today... why not include a picture of the lovely lady!

1.) Mood:
Energized (I know, weird being that it is Monday!), but I've had my coffee and my co-workers are a blast so they make Monday's do-able! Plus my day went really fast so that's exciting! :)

2.) What was the best part of your weekend?
My softball team winning 1st place in playoffs.. woah DANG!

3.) If you HAD to choose one: drastic hair color change, or drastic haircut?!
Drastic haircut... I'm thinking Miley Cyrus drastic. :p

4.) Current nail polish:
Zoya Avery (you're so shocked.. I know) with Nicole by OPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie on top.

5.)You're carving a pumpkin... what do you carve?
This:

6.) Current outfit:
Grey dress pants and a black sweater with black suede flats and rainbow colored earrings. :)

7.) Are there any TV shows you are really loving at the moment?
I've been obsesssssssssed with 90210! I swear, I 'm addicted. It's so juicy and amazing!
I've also been loving New Girl and The New Normal.

8.) Do you change your makeup routine with the seasons?  How is it different for fall?
I have been using brown eyeliner subtly above my top eyelashes to darken up a little (in case you were wondering.. I never usually wear eyeliner at all) and have been using a more barbie pink blush. I don't know.. I just think it looks really pretty in the fall/winter. :)

9.) Are you dressing up for Halloween this year?
I want to! Maybe as Effie Trinket, Poison Ivy, or Holly Golightly!

10.) Weekly goals:
To save money! This has been a goal of mine for awhile now because I want to buy a house before Christmas! So I need to be more strict! Mayyyyybe since I have written it on my blog I can follow through! :)

Thanks for reading, everyone!

Mismatched Chevron

Hello, hello!
I have been extremly lazy today.. surprise, surprise!
Saturday's do that to me! :p
Am I still in sweats? Umm.. yes!
Have I wasted my day watching youtube videos and scanning nail art pictures? Absolutely!
Have I completed a manicure? Sure did! :)
So let's get right to it!
I've been wanting to do chevron nails for awhile now and just never got around to it.
So finally, I drew some inspiration from fashion and went with it.
I found a picture on weheartit of a girl in a chevron top with hot pink shorts!
I will include a picture below because it's pretty lovely.
I incorporated my favorite thing ever... glitter!
Flowers, hot pink, and of course chevron! Because that's what this mani is all about.
Colors used: Fancy Fingers Screamin Fuschia, OPI Teenage Dream, NYC Black Lace Creme
a no named white OPI polish and a Milani precision polish in White Canvas..
OPI Teenage Dream is my favorite glitter of all time! Just look at it! :D

Velvet Nails

Hi everyone!
How are ya'll doing?
Today I'm very exited to be doing my first review of a product.
I was contacted by Born Pretty Store asking if I would like to review a product.
I, of course, said yes!
So as I was browsing the site I found that there were tons and tons of products to choose from.
It was really tough to decide what I wanted to get when finally I came across flocking powder!
I knew this was exactly what I wanted to try since there has been so much rave about velvet nails.
Without further ado...

I received navy blue flocking powder, a small brush, and a pair of tweezers.
You can find the kit here: 4464

What I did to achieve this look was paint my nails a navy blue shade. I let the polish dry a bit to get tacky then I used the tweezers that came with the kit to grab some flocking powder. I used a generous amount of flocking powder on each nail and pressed gently. Next I used the brush to wipe away the excess powder. Here is what I got!

I love the texture the flocking powder gives. It is SO fun and I have been petting my nails all night! :p Honestly, it is so much fun to do.
The only thing I found was that little fuzzes stuck to the flocking powder (I guess it probably didn't help that I was wearing and angora sweater :D).
I will definitely be purchasing more colors! Possibly red next? We'll see!
If you would like to check out the Born Pretty Store you can use coupon code HHL91 for 10% off your order!

Under Wraps

Hellooooo!
Is everyone enjoying their fall so far?
I know I am! Cozy sweaters, leather boots, huge scarves. There's nothing better!
Except nail polish, that is! :p
Plus, Halloween is slowly quickly approaching. What are you guys dressing up as?
I'm not sure if I am dressing up or not, but if I do anything I might just do peacock makeup.
Or wrap myself in my American flag scarf from free people and go as.... America? :p
Uhh, I probably wont do anything except hand out candy.
Anywhooozer... I wanted to do a nail design related to Halloween in some way.
I used some unexpected colors. However, these colors are still related to the holiday I think...
After seeing post after post of 'sugar spun' nails, I finally got around to trying it myself.
I really love how this turned out!
The colors I used:
OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, China Glaze Spontaneous, and NYC Black Lace Creme.
On to the masterpiece!

I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out!
And since I'm watching 'The Devil Wears Prada'...
"That is all.."
Thank you for reading!
PS: Giveaway coming up once I hit 50 followers! Only one to go! :D

Neutral Shapes

Hey guys!
Today I have a pretty fancy manicure for you.
I got this idea from a dress I saw Marie Claire magazine.
I was so excited to recreate this dress on my nails!
Well, I don't have much to say about this mani other than its neutral and its pretty simple.
The colors I used were an OPI (no name) White, Zoya Avery (Get it here!), and a Milani Black striper polish.
I used tape to create the basic shape in the center, then I used the black polish to create a stripe along one side as well as dots along the other side.
Well, that's that!
Enjoy!

Thank you for reading!
Have a great day!

Excuse Me, "Matte"dame!

Hellooooo!
Today I had tons of free time (Saturdays, Oh how I love you.)
Obviously, I spent some time with my nail polish family.
As well as some episodes of 90210. I decided to start at season one.
I've become obsessed with this show.
Good lord, there are a lot of episodes!
I also spent some time with my family, family.
We went to the pumpkin patch which was so much fun!
My nephew had a blast and gathered about... oh, 20 pumpkins.
Anyway, I wanted to create a design using some of my newest nail polishes.
Today I used Color Club Style Icon with Essie Matte About You on top.
Then with a dotting tool I used Color Club Berry and Bright to create a design.
I really love the simplicity of this and I hope you enjoy it as well!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!
Thank you for reading.

Polish Haul!

Hey everyone! :)
How are ya'll doing?
I am fantastic! Thank you for asking! :p
So, I apologize for the small break I took this week.
As some of you know, I went to NYC over the weekend.
Then when I got home Sunday I had to play a double-header for softball.
That makes for a long day... especially when you're tired.
Then I did have the day off Monday, but I spent the day cleaning! Yes, I cleaned... over doing nails!
What is wrong with me?
Oh yeah... my room was a disaster hole.
I also play volleyball Tuesday's and Thursday's. I've been pretty busy.. it is quite difficult to recuperate after a three day weekend!
Tonight... I hosted an Arbonne party! Have any of you heard of this?
It's pretty great stuff! I found out about it when I went to a bridal show.
It was REALLY fun. I found the make-up I want to wear for my wedding... I think...
There are soooo many decisions to make! Goodness gracious!
Oh my lanta! I apologize for my life story!
On to the haul already!
I went shopping on hautelook (http://www.hautelook.com/short/3BneA) during their Color Club sale
They had some really great things on there, but I ended up getting two mini sets.
I got them pretty quickly and was extremely excited!
I got eight colors total including: Style Icon, Muse-ical, By Design, In The Limelight, Ho-Ho Holly, Berry and Bright, Gift of Sparkle, and Snow Flakes.
On to the polish... Beware of pictures!

In The Limelight is a true periwinkle, light blue. It is probably my favorite out of all these! The blurred photo shows the true color in my opinion, so I included it.

Muse-ical is a very flat, glamorous, and edgy grey. It is very opaque and can be worn with one coat.

By Design is a medium-dark plum shade. This is also very opaque and one of my new favorites!

Style Icon is deep red. It is very classic and perfect for the fall season! Seen below is one coat.

Okay, now for the glitter polishes. I only did one nail per color because, let's be honest here, I did NOT want to remove glitter from all my nails four different times! Do you blame me? :p

Berry and Bright is a deep red with silver and blue micro glitter.

Ho-Ho Holly is a very deep green with blue undertones and gold shimmer. I am so in love with this color. It's perfect!

Snow-Flakes is an orange-pink flakie polish. 'nuff said. It is an EXACT dupe for Essie Shine of the Times.

Gift of Sparkle is my number one favorite out of all my new polishes. It is a purple microglitter base with loads of holographic glitter. It is so beautiful, I can't handle it!

Woah dang! Is it really midnight already? Where does the time go?
Thanks for reading!
Hello to all new followers! You guys are the best! (hugsss) :)
Now I am going to lay in bed and do a crossword puzzle. How old am I anyway?
