Ikat, you kat.

Today I tried a really fun manicure that I've been wanting to do for awhile now.
Yes, it's the ikat design.
This is a very on trend pattern right now!
It can be seen on many different clothes, home goods, and nails - obviously!
The colors I chose are very bright and summer-y.
I think this is a cute design, but if I were to do it again... I would NOT put three on ANY finger.
My middle finger just looks crowded and clustered.
Anyway.. I really love it. It makes my fingers look so fun!
The colors are Julep - Mandy and China Glaze - Spontaneous and two striping polishes.
Mandy is my favorite, favorite, favorite color of all time!
Hope you enjoy!

Back to Black

Today I did a gradient featuring the Maybelline Color Show nail polish that I did a post on the other day. Turns out the polish lasts really well without chipping! I was impressed so I wanted to do a little something extra to my manicure. I knew I wanted to do a gradient, but wasn't sure with which color. So as I was going through my collection, it was between chunky glitter, lilac, white, or black.
Well, I obviously chose black because.. let's be honest, I adore dark nail polish. I used a black OPI polish that has no name because it came in a Halloween kit I bought one year.
Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out so until next time! :)

Maybelline Color Show - Fuchsia Fever Swatches and Review

Yesterday, while I was at my drugstore I saw the new Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer's
I decided I wanted to give one a try so I picked up this gorgeous color called Fuchsia Fever.
I was so excited about this color because I saw a Zoya polish almost the same color called Charisma!
So, I thought.. I could save some money buying this one instead.
As soon as I got home I started on my manicure!
I think the color is absolutely gorgeous!
However, it took me around 3-4 coats to get the opacity I was looking for. That's alot especially since I'm used to only doing two coats!
Also, the polish dries really quickly which is fantastic and allows me to apply the coats at a quicker pace. When the polish dries it has a matte-like finish (you can see this in the first photo), but then I applied a top coat and they became so shiny and gorgeous!

So, overall...
I love the color.
I love how quickly it dires.
I don't love the amout of coats it takes.
I don't particularly love the finish either.
I would give this polish a C+ grade.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th (well, it's the 5th) of July!
Yes, I'm a day late. But, better late than never.
Yesterday I went to a 4th of July picnic and firework show which was amazing.
I had just gotten home from a week of vacation so I have been a pretty busy gal.
I'm still not unpacked!
However, I wanted to take the time out of my day off to share my 4th of July manicure!
It's very simple, but super festive.
I used:
 Essie - Mezmerised
Essie - Meet Me At Sunset
 Essie - Set In Stones
OPI - Last Friday Night
 and OPI - White Shatter.
Then I had some gold stars that I added to my pinkie nail.

I hope you all had a safe and happy 4th!
